My first Girls Night Out.

Postby Christine Parker » February 7th, 2017, 10:28 pm

the 24th of this month marks the 10th anniversary of my first girls night out (GNO) and what an eventful night it was! :-)

I got changed at my brother's flat in Surrey Hills. It took ages, as I wanted to get every right. I called a taxi when suddenly there was a massive rain storm and the cab never arrived. I decided that I would have to drive the venue, a Thai restaurant in Newtown and the traffic was terrible and parking almost impossible to find. I eventually found one 3-4 blocks away. I walked in the heavy rain with a small umbrella, and with shoes that were too loose. I arrived 50 minutes late to the restaurant. Amanda the organiser has stressed that punctuality was essential. By the time I got there, I was in tears and feeling terrible. :-(

Fortunately, everyone was lovely and comforting. The meal was nearly over, but they gave me their leftovers.

The next stop was the famous Imperial Hotel and by that time I had settled down and we had a great time.

I made some great friends that night some of whom remain my friends 10 years later.
